    Flavor and Texture: Lion’s Mane (Hericium erinaceus) flavor and texture are strikingly similar to crab or lobster meat. You’ll experience a delicate sweetness balanced with a dense, meaty mouthfeel that is more akin to crab, or even chicken, than any other mushroom we’ve tasted. The flavor is very mild and these mushrooms easily absorb notes from seasonings, cooking oils, and other ingredients making them a great addition to pasta, soups, and stir-fries. Lion’s Mane mushrooms can be added to virtually any recipe, alongside or as a fantastic substitute for meat—but with its incredible natural flavor, our favorite way to cook it is sliced up and pan-fried in a little olive oil.

    Lion’s Mane is a delicate mushroom that easily absorbs water and too much can impact the flavor and texture negatively. We recommend storing your Lion’s Mane mushroom in a low traffic spot in the fridge, preferably in paper wrapping or a paper bag. They can be left in the main compartment of the refrigerator to allow for better airflow, avoid the crisper drawer. When you’re ready to cook, DO NOT RINSE! Use a dry brush to gently remove any dirt or debris. Our fresh Lion’s Mane mushrooms can be stored for roughly 5-7 days under these recommendations.
